OUR STEWARDS
Suzi Buckley is a proud mom, veteran military spouse, and co-founder of Sacred Warrior Fellowship. Suzi and Whiz met in 1988 while attending Jacksonville University, married in 1994 at Naval Air Station Lemoore in California, and built their family across multiple duty stations. Their oldest son Matthew Jr. was born in 2000 while stationed at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in San Diego. During their years in the Navy, Suzi taught at private schools and child development centers on base - always the steady presence behind the mission.
When Whiz returned from service carrying wounds that neither of them fully understood, it was Suzi who held space when he could not hold it for himself. She absorbed the weight of those years with grace, loyalty, and a love that refused to let go - even when the path forward wasn't clear. When Whiz encountered God through sacred sacrament and began to find his way home, Suzi witnessed that transformation firsthand. Moved by what she saw, she chose to begin her own sacred journey - and what followed has made them better partners, better parents, and more deeply connected to God and to each other than at any point in their marriage.
That journey is what brought Suzi to this work. She completed Being True to You training and is a certified contemplative counselor and life coach. She has sat with sacred plant and animal sacraments including iboga, psilocybin, and 5-MeO-DMT, and brings that lived experience to every ceremony she stewards - dedicated to walking alongside Veterans, First Responders, and their Families as they return home to God and to themselves.
Suzi and Whiz have three children — Matthew Jr., Jack, who is studying at the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado Boulder, and Keeley, a senior in high school, competitive cheerleader, and future Ole Miss Rebel.
