Before becoming a Navy TOPGUN F/A-18 Hornet fighter pilot, Matthew “Whiz” Buckley carried deep burdens from a childhood marked by trauma and pain. Years of flying fighter jets and combat sorties over Iraq and witnessing the toll of service - on himself and those he led - only compounded the burden.

When the uniform came off, a new battle began. The transition to civilian life brought isolation, depression, and a descent into alcohol and substance use that nearly cost him everything.

Conventional treatments failed. But through one guided sacred sacramental journey, Whiz encountered God directly, was freed from lifetimes of pain, and remembered who he truly is. That experience became the seed of Sacred Warrior Fellowship - a mission to lead others home.
